Beyond the Diagnosis takes viewers beyond the numbers of the HIV epidemic in Louisiana and the Deep South and into the lives shaped by it. Featuring Dr. Joyce Turner-Keller, Millicent Foster, and Dominique Grant, the documentary confronts stigma head-on while spotlighting the advocates working to change outcomes in their communities.

Dr. Joyce Turner-Keller
Dr. Joyce Turner-Keller is a Baton Rouge minister, writer, community organizer, and HIV/AIDS health educator, and the founder of the nonprofit Aspirations. Her advocacy has been honored by President Barack Obama, members of Congress, and two Louisiana governors — living proof that a diagnosis does not define a person’s worth or future.
Millicent Foster
Millicent Foster is a community advocate, public speaker, and family educator on health and HIV criminalization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her home of 47 years. Her advocacy is boots on the ground — fighting stigma, championing criminalization reform, and lending her voice to those still finding theirs.
Dominique Grant
Dominique Grant is a nationally recognized HIV advocate, speaker, and HIV Case Manager in Jackson, Mississippi, and the founder of the movement Walking In My Reality. Diagnosed in 2015, she challenges stigma through faith-informed advocacy — reminding others that HIV is not the end of their story.
